weekly photo challenge: thankful

share a picture which means THANKFUL to you!

Each element within this image tells of various chapters of my life that is awakened as Thanksgiving’s  gratitude readies my family for the ancient ritual of Christmas’ message of hope and community.  Christmas, within my family, is associated with Winter’s transition from dissolute darkness to Spring’s promise of life renewed.

Gratitude, even a minute amount, has the potential to lessen negative emotive states – envy, anger, resentment, grief – through its power to shift focus from a past or expected future of unmet needs/desires to the bliss within each present moment.
