My Favorite Place…Downtown   Nikon D750   f/8   1/125   24mm   100 ISO

In the early 1960s, Grand Junction, Colorado’s downtown commercial district was restructured into a tree-lined, pedestrian-friendly shopping park that borders the gentle winding Main Street.

Today, one of the first things we do when we return to visit family and friends is to undertake a walk about with our memories of what use to be and amazement at what remains as we view the various exhibits that are currently part of the Art on the Corner project.

  1. Thanks for sharing this fountain photo. We lived in the Grand Junction area for 4 years back in the 70s and enjoyed the downtown development. We left in 1981 and I can’t imagine what it is like today after seeing this photo. I’ll have to try Google maps’ street image to check it out.

    1. Allen, it is not the same as it was in 1981…so many changes. Palisade is now known for its wine and not so much for peaches.

      1. Wow! The Christian Brothers winery folks had just arrived before we left (we had a place in Fruita) and I remember that they were psyched about the minerals in the soil in Palisade. Thanks for the update.
